Mike Burgess Biography for Publications

Mike is president of Spinnaker, LLC, a Web design and hosting company located in Topeka, Kan. Spinnaker designs, hosts and provides consulting services for a wide range of clients, including businesses, associations and elected officials.

Mike is an active member of his community and the communications industry. He serves in the Kansas House of Representatives and is a former board member of the Shawnee County Fair Association. He also previously served as the chair of the Technology Section of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Mike is a member of the Joint Committee on Information Technology in the Kansas Legislature. He is also a member of the Kansas Advisory Council on Intergovernmental Relations and also serves as Vice Chair of the House Governmental Efficiency and Fiscal Oversight Committee.

Mike earned a bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in economics from Kansas State University. After serving as chapter president of the K-State chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Mike was elected to the PRSSA National Committee as vice president of chapter development.
